la divan, in centrul vechi

June 17th, 2010 — 10:26am

cataif

(caz real). (acum evident rad singura la birou like a weirdo:))

tabouleh ayran

La desert am luat cataif cu inghetata, dar nu o sa gosh too much about it ca stiti ca nu ma omor dupa dulciuri. Asa.

i think i can i think i can

June 16th, 2010 — 11:05am

THE LITTLE ENGINE THAT COULD
(Watty Piper)

little-engine

A little steam engine had a long train of cars to pull. She went along very well till she came to a steep hill. But then, no matter how hard she tried, she could not move the long train of cars. She pulled and she pulled. She puffed and she puffed. She backed and started off again. Choo! Choo! But no! the cars would not go up the hill.

At last she left the train and started up the track alone. Do you think she had stopped working? No, indeed! She was going for help. “Surely I can find someone to help me,” she thought. Over the hill and up the track went the little steam engine. Choo, choo! Choo, choo! Choo, choo! Choo! Pretty soon she saw a big steam engine standing on a side track. He looked very big and strong. Running alongside, she looked up and said:

“Will you help me over the hill with my train of cars? It is so long and heavy I can’t get it over.”

The big steam engine looked down at the little steam engine. Then he said:

“Don’t you see that I am through my day’s work? I have been rubbed and scoured ready for my next run. No, I cannot help you,”

The little steam engine was sorry, but she went on, Choo, choo! Choo, choo! Choo, choo! Choo, choo! Soon she came to a second big steam engine standing on a side track. He was puffing and puffing, as if he were tired. “That big steam engine may help me,” thought the little steam engine. She ran alongside and asked:

“Will you help me bring my train of cars over the hill? It is so long and so heavy that I can’t get it over.”

The second big steam engine answered:

“I have just come in from a long, long run. Don’t you see how tired I am? Can’t you get some other engine to help you this time?

“I’ll try,” said the little steam engine, and off she went. Choo, choo! Choo, choo! Choo, choo! After a while she came to a little steam engine just like herself. She ran alongside and said:

“Will you help me over the hill with my train of cars? It is so long and so heavy that I can’t get it over.”

“Yes, indeed!” said this little steam engine. “I’ll be glad to help you, if I can.”

So the little steam engines started back to where the train of cars had been standing. Both little steam engines went to the head of the train, one behind the other. Puff, puff! Chug, choo! Off they started!

Slowly the cars began to move. Slowly they climbed the steep hill. As they climbed, each little steam engine began to sing:

“I-think-I-can! I-think-I-can! I-think-I-can! I-think-I-can! I-think-I-can! I-think-I-can! I think I can – I think I can – I think I can I think I can”

And they did! Very soon they were over the hill and going down the other side. Now they were on the plain again; and the little steam engine could pull her train herself. So she thanked the little engine who had come to help her, and said good-bye.

And she went merrily on her way, singing:

“I-thought-I-could! I-thought-I-could! I-thought-I-could! I-thought-I-could! I thought i could – I thought I could – I thought I could – I thought I could – I thought I could – I thought I could I thought I could”

tocana rece cu iz de mediterana

June 15th, 2010 — 12:07pm

tocana de legume cu menta si paste on the side

Not to mention ca you get plenty of veggies si, cum zicea G Girl pe blogul ei – Monoloagele Veganului, te tii departe de razbunarea animalelor. Bun.

Tot acum punem si cateva capere si masline verzi. Enjoy!

micul print

June 15th, 2010 — 8:25am

„Drept marturie ca micul print a existat intr-adevar sta si faptul ca era o fiinta incantatoare, ca radea si ca-si dorea o oaie. Cand cineva isi doreste o oaie, e o marturie ca exista.”

Micul Print – Antoine de Saint-Exupéry

La multi ani, dragul nostru Marius!

biblia bucatarului lenes

June 13th, 2010 — 6:47pm

Bucatarul lenes gets invited to a barbeque party sambata. Bucatarul lenes considera ca getting his/her lazy ass out and about e enuf contribution la treaba asta, asa ca:

– aduce prajituri de la cofetarie, gotta love that about him/her

– capitalizeaza pe latura sensibila, pozand flori in gradina; fripturile mai pot astepta

frigaruile astea really highlight your eyes:)) digging the dirt

– se ofera imediat sa dea o fuga pana la Metro in decapotabila de vis a unui amic cand observa ca s-a terminat gheata; dang, si taman atunci i se ceruse ajutorul in bucatarie, o well, cineva trebuie sa se sacrifice!

– nicidecum nu-i incurca pe cei care fac gratarul, best to stay away I always say!

gratar just chillin'

June 9th, 2010 — 8:28pm

macrou, fried rice, castraveti si ceapa verde

Am reusit sa ard hartia de copt, if you can believe it.

Delicious dinner. For “me and you, just us too!” (excuse my SATC reference, am auzit ca filmul nu place nimanui except for me:) Enjoy!

pescetarianism

June 9th, 2010 — 8:48am

Pescetarianism, also called pesco-vegetarianism, is the practice of a diet that includes seafood and excludes mammals and birds. In addition to fish or shellfish, a pescetarian diet typically includes some or all of vegetables, fruit, nuts, grains, beans, eggs and dairy. The Merriam-Webster dictionary dates the origin of the term “pescetarian” to 1993 and defines it to mean: “one whose diet includes fish but no meat”.

Discuss:)

i got sunshine

June 7th, 2010 — 7:15pm

p1150402

Inca nu-s fully back in the cooking race, dar envizajez un comeback de zile mari soon. Deocamdata incepem timid cu niste cartofi noi in bataia soarelui de duminica dupa-amiaza si cu confesiuni lacrimogene along the lines of I’ve missed you too. Thanks for sticking with me through the sad and then the not so sad and the big and the happy.
